Getting into radio control aircrafts is a great way to get out of the house and meet new friends.  This hobby has two distinct aspects–building in your workshop followed by risking your project in public by flying it high into the air above Schiller Woods.  But these days “”ARF” or “almost ready to fly” airplanes have taken the place of kit building that used to take months to complete.  Instread, with ARFs the job is assembly over a few days which certainly lessens the pain of an unexpected hard landing or crash.

RC aircraft come in many sizes and power levels, from small electic aircrafts that can fly safely in a park, to large gas powered models with engines of 50cc’s or more.  Learning to fly is easier than ever, with the technology of computer RC simulators and the use of buddy boxes that work like a driver training car with two sets of controls.
